Accessibility law in Poland: are you provably compliant?
The Polish fine is a turnover-linked formula: up to ten times the national average monthly wage (indicatively around PLN 80,000-90,000), with an absolute ceiling of 10% of annual turnover, a substantial risk for larger web shops.

Enforcement: what's happening now
A multi-body supervision model with the PFRON president as the central hub; for web shops/e-commerce the Minister of Digital Affairs is the designated authority. The approach is escalating: first a 120-day remediation period for services, only then a fine or a service ban. As of mid-2026 no EAA fine has been imposed in Poland, supervision has been in its information and build-up phase since the first joint market surveillance meeting of 24 June 2025.
Poland's full Accessibility Act (PAD) took effect on 28 June 2025; online stores must respond within 7 days to a reported accessibility barrier, with enforcement inspections expected to intensify from 2026. Dostępność cyfrowa - nowe obowiązki dla sklepów internetowych (Prawo.pl)
Cross-border trade
Selling to here from abroad?
The European Accessibility Act is market-based: if you sell products or services to consumers in this country, it applies to you, even if your business is established outside the EU.
- One subscription.
- One scan.
- One dossier.
- Proof for every market.
All built on WCAG: in order once is in order everywhere.
Why this matters
Accessibility isn't a checkbox for a regulator, it decides whether roughly 1 in 6 people (WHO) can use your site at all. For them, an inaccessible store isn't a minor annoyance but a closed door. Fix the error in your own code and you remove that barrier and make your site cleaner for search engines, the same fix, double the gain.
Know where you stand, before the regulator does.
